There is one last element that is important to take into account in this question: the European level. Starting in the summer of 2022, an operation devised by Giorgia Meloni and Manfred Weber has been launched for an alliance between the European People's Party (EPP), of which Weber is president, and the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR). This European-wide party, chaired by Meloni, brings together, among others, the Brothers of Italy, the Poles of Law and Justice (PiS, for its acronym in Polish), Vox of Spain, Sweden Democrats and the Party of Finns.

 All formations, except PiS, that have sealed agreements with Phone Number List mainstream rightin their respective countries at different levels of government. This operation aims to change the balance of the EU in the face of the next European elections in June 2024 by forging an alliance between the EPP and the ECR to replace the grand coalition between the popular, socialists and liberals that have governed the Union until now. It seems to me to be a superficial and mistaken analysis, which does not capture the underlying transformations. Meloni has not moderated. Simply put, she is pragmatic. She has understood that there are two red lines that she cannot overcome if she wants to guarantee her political survival: Atlanticism and what we could call Eurorealism, that is, a kind of façade Europeanism. Consequently, her position on the war in Ukraine has been clear: support for NATO [North Atlantic Treaty Organization] and sending weapons to kyiv.
